Article Processing Policy

1. Overview

The Nigerian Journal of Basic and Clinical Sciences (NJBCS) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to disseminating high-quality research in the biomedical and clinical sciences. To sustain its operations, ensure rigorous peer review, maintain publication standards, and provide unrestricted global access to all published articles, the journal levies an Article Processing Charge (APC) payable upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication.

The APC covers editorial management, peer review, digital archiving, website maintenance, and online publication. There are no submission or review fees.

2. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Authors based in Nigeria: ₦150,000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only)

  • Authors based outside Nigeria: USD 200 (Two Hundred United States Dollars only)

The APC is payable only after acceptance of the manuscript for publication. Authors are advised not to make any payments prior to receiving an official acceptance notification and invoice from the editorial office.

Payments can be made via bank transfer or direct deposit. Authors should ensure that proof of payment (bank teller, transaction receipt, or SWIFT confirmation) is uploaded or emailed to the editorial office immediately after payment for verification and processing.

4. Waivers and Discounts

Partial or full waivers may be considered on a case-by-case basis for manuscripts of exceptional scientific merit, especially those originating from low-resource institutions or early-career researchers. Requests for waivers must be made at the time of submission and will not affect the editorial or peer review process.

5. Receipt and Confirmation

Upon confirmation of payment, authors will receive an official receipt issued by the Nigerian Journal of Basic and Clinical Sciences. Publication of the accepted manuscript will proceed once payment verification is complete.
