About the College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano

The College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano, is a premier institution of medical and health sciences education, research, and innovation in Nigeria. Established to train highly skilled professionals who will contribute to improved healthcare delivery, the College has become a center of excellence for teaching, research, and community service in the northern region of the country and beyond.

The College encompasses several schools and faculties, including Medicine, Dentistry, Allied Health Sciences, and Nursing Sciences. It maintains a close academic and clinical affiliation with the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), which serves as its principal teaching and research hospital. This strategic integration of academic training with practical clinical exposure ensures that students and researchers acquire a strong foundation in evidence-based healthcare, ethical practice, and scientific inquiry.
