Editorial Announcement: NJBCS Becomes a Crossref Member and Assumes DOI Management
The Editorial Board of the Nigerian Journal of Basic and Clinical Sciences (NJBCS) is pleased to announce that the journal is now an official member of Crossref, the global DOI registration agency for scholarly content.
As part of this development, ownership and management of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for the journal have been formally transferred to the College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano, the journal’s parent institution.
With effect from this update, all newly published articles in NJBCS will be assigned DOIs using the Crossref prefix:
10.65843
Articles previously published with DOIs under the prefix 10.4103 remain valid, resolvable, and fully citable. No action is required from authors regarding those publications.
This transition strengthens the journal’s:
- Metadata ownership and control
- Long-term preservation and discoverability
- Compliance with international best practices in scholarly publishing
- Eligibility for indexing and evaluation by global databases
